Three Steps to Getting #GirlBoss Status
Did you know that 900 women-owned businesses are being started every single day? Yup! This is the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs in the world! So fast in fact, that women’s businesses are being labeled as a major key to sustained economic growth. This is a far cry from where we were just a generation ago. The fixed, forty hour work week used to be the zenith of success. It's what everyone wanted - a good job, with good benefits. Now, it appears that women, especially, are cutting their corporate ties and abandoning the cubicle for good! I did it, so I can say from personal experience, it's one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I can remember walking out of my office for the last time. It was a Monday, the South Florida Sun in the sky, and I just knew it was the start of something amazing. The very next week, I made more money in my own business than my annual salary. I built a 6-figure business in 8 months and it made me ask myself why I waited so long?
Actually, I know why. And that’s what we will discuss in the next steps below. These were all things that were lacking in my process. So, I want to share them with you. If you are reading this you may be craving that laptop lifestyle. It's attractive! Its freedom! It's a dream come true! Make money while doing what you love? If you are nodding your head so fast that your falsies are about to fall off then keep reading. Here are my three steps to getting #girlboss status:
Clarity - know exactly what you want and be unapologetic about it. Believe that your desires are given to you for a reason. You passions can absolutely sustain you, but you have to know what those are first! If you need help in this area, ask yourself questions like: what do I want to be known for or what does a perfect Monday look like for me?
Confidence - Once you know what you want, you have to actually believe you can get it. Stop the negative self-talk that we all indulge in from time to time. That just won't serve you. I love mantras and affirmations for this. It's all about changing the way you think and choosing to acknowledge what is possible for you.
Consistency - This is where the rubber hits the road. Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor will your empire be! So, this is the “do whatever it takes” step in the process. Just like anything worth having in life, it's going to take time and dedication. You may have to make a few small, but notable sacrifices. You might have to get up an hour earlier to work on your side hustle until it becomes steady income. Perhaps you forego a few thursday night happy hours to get some work done. Or invest extra cash into your business instead of a new handbag. Create weekly rhythms that add up to massive success! You can do this!
Always remember this: your dreams are your responsibility! Cheers to your success!
