According to Andrew DaRosa via CT Post the social media outage has everyone on the internet wondering what is happening. Facebook members are reporting that they are being greeted with a message that reads "Facebook will be back soon." Others have reported to receive a message that the site is down for "required maintenance." Additionally, Instagram is also reporting widespread outages across the globe, primarily affecting portions of the United States and Europe.

There is no word yet from Facebook, or Instagram, as for when the issues will be resolved. Hello, Mercury retrograde!
