OnlyFans Creator's Guide to Montezie Off App
Suffering succotash!
OnlyFans rocked its creators with an announcement that’s still leaving CamGirls and CamBoys crying in its wake.
This guide is what we at Flourish Media suggest OnlyFans Creators do right away to transition away from the app and onto platforms that they can control.
Before we get into the meat of this bad boy, please note these steps apply to any and all content creators.
If you’re killing on TikTok, if your Instagram followers can’t get enough of your posts, if your YouTube views are climbing, or your Blog drops gems readers can’t put down… this guide is for you.
If you’ve ever heard of OnlyFans you might be surprised to know it has an estimated 130 million active users and 2 million creators. It’s basically a small digital nation of content creators and people who admire their work.
If you know exactly what OnlyFans is then you might be surprised to know so many people are willing to pay for content and also that so many people are willing to create what is essentially adult content.
Oh yeah… OnlyFans is… THAT kind of space. Sometimes…
You see OnlyFans gave both content creators and users a grey area because the site is not explicitly pornography but it could be… and that’s the problem.
The Financial Times goes into detail saying OnlyFans founder blames the banks for a ban on porn.
STEP ONE
Create a legitimate business.
Go to your local authorities and register a business. An LLC should be plenty to start. Reach out to a corporate attorney if you need support deciding if your brand needs something more substantial like an S Corp (S Corporation). To do this you’ll need:
a physical address
mailing address
social security number
and a business name.
Have fun with this or watch this video about choosing a business name.
Hit up the IRS and get an EIN number. It’s an employee identification number. It’s basically the social security number for your business. It is 100% fee. Go get it here.
Next, open a business bank account. After you have your business registration, take those documents to the bank and open a business bank account with a credit card. You may need as little as $100 to put in the checking account depending on the bank. Flourish Media has accounts at more than one bank. Here is a list of banks to consider.
STEP TWO
Create a digital home for your brand.
No content creator can transition to a true personal brand without a place to go!
Go buy that URL!
If you are known as @FlourishMediaCo on OnlyFans then you should own FlourishMediaCo.com. We also suggest buying your name (yes your legal name that’s on your birth certificate). Today you might be @FlourishMediaCo but that could change.
Promise yourself from today that any time you create an identity online, you will go buy the URL. We use GoDaddy.com, you can as well.
Content creators should NEVER rely on one platform to gain followers so while you’re at it, go on ALL the most popular social networks and create an account with the same name. Even if you never use it, you should own your identity online.
If someone already owns the username you use on OnlyFans, create something similar or - to be honest - if OnlyFans kicks you off, you have to start from nothing. Now seems like a great time to create a cohesive username that allows you to be consistent over all platforms.
Can you imagine creating a deep following on OnlyFans just to find out that name isn’t available anywhere else PLUS your OnlyFans account is being shut down?! Bishhhhhhh nah.
STEP THREE
Tell your fans!!
Now that you have a legitimate business and a place to go, it’s time to tell your fans.
This is going to require some changes from you. You’re no longer just some content creator online. You are the face of a brand!
This means you have front office tasks and back-office tasks.
FRONT OFFICE TASK

Establish your aesthetic!

BACK OFFICE TASK
Use your URL to create a SIMPLE website. This is a website with 1-3 pages. Home / Offer / Contact.
Get an email management system.
Your money is in your list.
Without an email management system, you’ll ALWAYS need OnlyFans. There are plenty of free options available as your contact list grows, you can upgrade to paid options. MailChimp and ConvertKit are just some examples.
Decide on a payment processor. Secure the bag… ALWAYS. You wouldn’t care about losing your OnlyFans account if you weren’t making money!
We recognize that OnlyFans is part or all of your income. Not all payment processors allow transactions for adult content. If you’re not sure which processors work best for your brand schedule a discovery call here.
