Is your business becoming a source of stress and anxiety for you?
Running a business is inherently challenging, demanding constant attention, strategic decision-making, and resilience in the face of uncertainties. However, when the stress associated with your business begins to take a toll on your well-being, it’s crucial to pause and reflect on the factors contributing to this strain.
So, what happens when the very success you’ve worked so hard for starts to feel like an overwhelming source of stress and anxiety?
Many young entrepreneurs find themselves trapped in a cycle of relentless pressure to meet increasing expectations, juggling multiple roles and responsibilities that can easily lead to feeling overwhelmed and burnout.
In my experience as an entrepreneur and Mindset Facilitator, I have found that every business owner feels like there’s not enough time! Having a long list of things to accomplish to move their business forward and feeling that there is not enough time to do them all moves them into an emotional state of feeling overwhelmed!
The problem is not that there is not enough time, the problem is that believing that there is not enough time, moves us into what we call a primal state, which is this feeling of stress, anxiety, and overwhelm! And when we move into a primal state of being, we move into the sympathetic expression of the nervous system, the fight or flight response. In this state of being, our energy is focused on survival. We don’t have access to the resources that we need to move forward powerfully in our lives, we don’t have access to the creativity, the inspiration, the intuition, and the intelligence we need to create what we want in life.
However, when we operate from a powerful state of being, states like joy, gratitude, excitement, and peace, we are not trying to survive, we are in thrive mode. In this state, we activate the parasympathetic expression of the nervous system. This is where health is, this is where wealth is, this is where inspiration is! When we are in a powerful state of being, we are connected to resources, we are connected to ideas, to a power greater than ourselves…
So, the name of the game here is to build awareness, notice when you move into a primal state of being, and use practices such as gratitude to move your focus and attention back to what is working in your life to operate from a powerful state of being!
