3 Types of Ads Every Small Business Should be Using

Facebook Ads work! We manage them for our clients and see high conversion revenue every single day.  It's a great way to build brand awareness and get fresh leads in the virtual door of your business. But, more than 2/3 of businesses fail at using Facebook Ads. Have no fear, the Flourish Team is here! And we want to help you get started!

But first, let’s talk about why you should be using Facebook Ads for your small business. Facebook is the most popular social media platform to date. There are over 2 Billion people using it every single day, we can guarantee that your ideal customers and clients are in that bunch.

So, it only makes sense to leverage the platform to promote your products and services.  But we don’t want you to throw money into marketing if it's not going to work. So, we want to give you 3 types of Facebook Ads that every small business should keep in their social arsenal.

#1: Video Ads

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you probably realize that video is everywhere! Every social media platform is favoring it and Facebook Ads are no different. There are so many benefits to using a video ad. First, it hits on multiple senses. It’s both audio and visual content. Statistics show that videos also keep viewers engaged for much longer than a regular graphic. Lastly, views for video ads tend to be cheap. You can spend $5 and reach up to 500 people. That’s terrific brand awareness.

Technically, Facebook allows you to upload hours worth of video content, but for an ad, we recommend keeping it short and sweet, under 3 minutes. We want to hook ‘em and get them into your sales funnel fast. A good social video is worth its weight in gold these days. So, we highly recommend that you invest in this type of advertising medium.

#2: Link Click Types of Ads

Facebook Ad Options

These are the most popular type of ad. The goal here is to get your target audience to “click” on something – and likely for them to end up on your website. These are great for both product based and service based types of businesses.

If you take a look at the image above (taken from inside of the Facebook Ads Manager), Traffic and Conversion ads are probably the two link click types of ads we use the most. Traffic is designed to send people to an off Facebook site destination (such as a website), while Conversions are strategically meant to capture leads on a landing page of sorts.

#3 The Boosted Post Ad

Not something we advocate when it comes to building brand awareness and trying to capture new leads, but a boosted post can have its benefits. Not sure if you heard the big announcement earlier this year about how Facebook is changing its algorithm…again! This time to favor posts from your personal connections, i.e. friends and family. That means Business Pages get the shaft. Don’t expect a ton of engagement on your Business Pages if you’re posting there – that’s a pay to play part of the platform. Boosting is gives you control of your business audience again. When you boost a post, you are showing that content to YOUR audience (people who have already liked your page) – which can be a great thing! It reminds that that you still exist, and you are ready and willing to offer your products and services to them.
