Just Do It
It's 2018 and brands are taking a stand. Gone are the days of being sweet and fluffy and in are the days of making a statement. If you want to stand out in today's saturated economy, it's best to rely on your core values and stick to them. I'm not saying that every statement a brand makes is the correct one or even the best one but I am saying it's time to branch out.
Nike for instance is sticking to their choice by including Colin Kaepernick as the new face of their 'Just Do It' campaign. Many people were upset at Nike's decision to use such a bold, and political statement in their ads that they even started to boycott the brand and cut the logo off of their clothing etc. ...and guess what? Nike is having the last laugh. Since posting last week, their Instagram has garnered over 170K followers and received the second-most liked post in Nike's history.
