The Trouble With "Just Getting To Know" Someone

Here is an example of why professional women are not happy in both business and in love.

I just returned from a women's conference in Las Vegas where women from all over the US gathered for a weekend of pampering, sisterhood and support.

During one of our breaks, I asked a sister in attendance about her relationship and I had to remind her which guy I was referring to.

She shared that they were no longer dating and that he turned out to be someone other than what she wanted in her life. When she gave me the reasons why he didn't work out, I asked a simple question, "you didn't know that about him BEFORE you started dating him?"

The things she shared, had she been clear on the quality of life and love that she wanted, would never have allowed her to get involved with him in the first place.

I asked more questions to help her see that she truly did not know what she wanted, was far too general in her desires, and would continue to run into the same type of dating situations when "getting to know someone" until she identified "what she needed to know" and how to figure it out before wasting time and energy.

As a professional woman, a woman in business and a woman on a mission, you don't have time to play around with dating situations that will never go anywhere.
