Faith & Fashion | Pitch to Investors at Flourish Media Conference

Each year at the Flourish Media Conference, businesses are encouraged to pitch to the panel of investors. There isn’t always a clear winner, this isn’t a pitch competition. It’s a chance to enrich relationships with local change-makers and gain actionable feedback. It’s a moment for business owners to connect directly with funding opportunities. If you play your cards right, you could walk away with deep connections and eager wallets ready to invest in your business.

Someone who did walk away with valuable insight was Alexandria Alexis!

As a small business owner, Alexandria Alexis hosted a booth at FMC23 where she was able to offer her products to attendees. Her business, I.Fearless, is a faith-based fashion company that tailors to businesswomen seeking professional clothing that gives them that extra *flare* they desire to truly step into their purpose.

After the seventh annual conference had ended, we approached Alexandria to get the scoop on her experience pitching to investors from Morgan Stanly, Bricklle Finance, Knot & Key, and many more!

Read what she shared with us below!

Why is it important to pitch your business?

“It’s important to pitch your business to allow others to know your business’s core values and why it’s needed. It also places you in a position to allow others to take interest in your business and possibly invest because the very need for your services/products is a must.”

Why did you decide to pitch?

“I decided to pitch because I knew my brand though similar to others, it’s values were different and what I represented was different. I wanted to share that difference and express not just the fashion, but the ministry behind the fashion.”

How does pitching align with your business doing social good?

“After pitching, a lot of people understood the values my business brings and what solution it brings to the table. It allowed many people to come and invest in the business through sales but also is a testimony of the very thing my business strives to be known for. Creating fearless women through fashion and what I like to call “Godfidence.” It was such a rewarding opportunity!”

What advice do you have for women business owners who receive the FMC Small Business Grant?

“To invest in your mental wealth truly.”

What is your next big milestone within your business?

“To start networking and pitching more. After this experience, I feel much more prepared to pitch to investors. I’m ready for my business to take this next step toward financial support!”

Why should other women small business owners attend Flourish Media Conference and what will they learn from your talk?

“I believe other women should attend the Flourish Media Conference to truly gain an awesome experience of networking with other inspiring women who are not competitors but encouragers. But also to gain insight and knowledge that you weren’t even aware you needed that will propel you to a better future with your own business. It was such a transformative experience I’ll always be thankful for.”

We love what Alexandria stands for. It’s business owners like her who help shape our future while making us all look our best.
